Airbus H175

Born as EC175, a joint venture between Eurocopter and China Aviation Industries (AVIC) where is know as Z-15 / Avicopter AC352, it is a twin engine medium size helicopter with a gross weight of 7 ton. It fells on the category of the AW139. Fitted with the Helionix avionics suite and manufactured at Marignane, France.

First flew on December 17, 2009 and with initial deliveries first expected for 2012. As of 2010, a total of 114 EC175 have been pre-ordered by 14 customers. First buyers Bristow and VIH Aviation Group announced in early 2008 but global launch custormer was NHV in 2014.

Developed to answer oil and gas industry needs, can transport 16 passengers up to 160nm / 300km. Broke time to climb world record, 6000m in 6m54sec.

On May 2014 maximum take-off weight (MTOW) has risen to 7,800 kg, offering an additional payload of 300 kg or an additional 40nm/74km radius of action.

Production aircraft started in c/n 5002 with type designation EC175B. From March 2015 changed commercial name to H175

As of March 2019, 33 H175s are in service worldwide, having recorded 43,000 flight hours

A fully-european built H175M is proposed as RAF Puma replacement.

As of June 2023, the 53 helicopters in service, flying with 15 operators, have reached 180,000 flight hours.

As of March 2024, 55 H175s have accumulated more than 210,000 flight hours, of which 184,000 in the energy sector.
