The MH-90 Enforcer underwent a six month evaluation in 1999 as part of the USCG trials with armed helicopters. Operation New Frontier was intended to stop small, high-speed smuggling vessels, known as go-fasts, which carry narcotics bound for the United States. They were assigned to Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON) based at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida but they were replaced by Agusta A109E Power ( MH-68 Stingray )
