Troy facility completes S-61 modernization for US State Dept, 23-May-12 : TROY, Alabama - Sikorsky Aircraft’s Troy, Ala., facility announced today it has completed the structural modernization of its first S-61T™ airframe, which will now undergo completion at Carson Helicopters for eventual delivery to the U.S. State Department for diplomatic service in Afghanistan. Sikorsky is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

US Dept of State orders 3 additional upgraded S-61, 08-Nov-11 : SHELTON, Connecticut - Sikorsky Aerospace Services today announced that the U.S. Department of State (DoS) has ordered three additional upgraded S-61 utility helicopters, bringing the total number purchased by DoS to 29 aircraft to date. Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) is the aftermarket division of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

First S-61T delivered, 02-Dec-10 : SHELTON, Connecticut - Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) today announced the delivery of the first upgraded S-61 helicopter to the U.S. State Department. With its history of reliability and safety, the Sikorsky S-61 helicopter is capable of performing a wide range of critical missions including medical evacuation, passenger and logistics transportation. SAS is the aftermarket division of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

US State Dept accepts S-61 for use in Afghanistan, 02-Jun-10 : PERKASIE, Pennsylvania - Sikorsky Aerospace Services today announced that the U.S. State Department has accepted the first two modernized S-61TM aircraft that will support missions for the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan.
