History of this Model in this Organisation:

Initial order for 11 SH-3G(A) Super Seasprites produced ex US Navy machines for use in the Anti-Surface Warfare role. Equipped with twin GE T700-GE-401 turboshafts, the airframes also feature a Litton Integrated Tactcal Avionics System, Forward-looking IR and the Penguin anti-ship missile. Operate from the RAN ANZAC Class frigates (FFH).

First SH-2G provisionally accepted by RAN at Nowra on 18 Oct 2003, well behind schedule reportedly due to problems integrating the bespoke combat mission software with the radar, datalink and Penguin missile.

Following a review of the project, the Australian Government cancelled the contract for the helicopters on March 5, 2008. 805 Squadron was disbanded on June 26, 2008 and the SH-2G(A)s were returned to Kaman
