Helis, December 13, 2021 - The Airbus H130 helicopter, formely known as Eurocopter EC130T2, will be equipped with the Garmin G500TXi touchscreen flight display starting next year.
The new glass cockpit replaces the Garmin G500H used until now.
Both versions have synthetic vision system (SVS) and helicopter terrain avoidance and warning system (HTAWS).
The G500TXi is a clean-sheet touchscreen design designed for General Aviation aircraft featuring :
- Bright, crisp 10.6” and 7” LCD touchscreen displays offer industry-leading scalability and flexibility in a wide range of panel configurations
- Engine indication system (EIS) optionally available on 7” displays or 10.6” display with split-screen data strip
- HSI mapping enhances situational awareness with MFD-like geographical map detail, weather, traffic display and more — overlaid within HSI portion of the primary flight display (PFD)
- Interfaces with popular avionics and autopilots, offering full touchscreen system continuity with our GTN™ and GTN Xi series¹
- Full compatibility with original G500 system sensors for a simplified, cost-effective upgrade path
The H130 is powered by a Safran Arriel 2D turbine engine with dual channel full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system with a third independent and automatic back-up channel. It also has energy-absorbing seats and a crash-resistant fuel system.
As the quietest helicopter on the market in its category, the Fenestron shrouded tail rotor and automatic variable rotor speed control contribute to the significantly reduced external sound level.
