Ejercito del Aire, February 14, 2024 - The Armament and Experimentation Logistics Center (CLAEX), the flight test center of the Spanish Air and Space Force, in collaboration with Wing 48 and the crew of the aircraft carrier Juan Carlos I, has commenced qualification tests for the NH90 helicopter on that Navy vessel.
These interface tests aim to generate wind charts, providing flight crews with information on maximum wind conditions, aircraft weight, and ship movement. This enables the aircraft to approach, land, and take off under safe conditions.
These wind charts need to be designed for each helicopter-ship pairing and, in this case, will provide Wing 48 with the capability to deploy and operate from the Navy's main strategic projection vessel, representing a significant leap in the interoperability of our Armed Forces."
