Unit History:

Formed as an ASW training unit at Mumbai (Bombay), in Maharashtra province at the Headquarters of Naval Western Command on 23 Nov 1990. Its Sea Kings were replaced by the Ka-28 (an export version of the Ka-27PL) from Nov 1993 and in Jun 1996 it moved to Goa. By 2002 it had moved to the east coast at the Headquarters of Naval Eastern Command.
