Westland produced version of the Agusta Bell 47G, primarily for the Army Air Corps, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force. 3 seat observation and basic training machine, with large forward plexiglass bubble canopy and a skeletal, triangular section tail boom with a small ventral fillet. Powered by a single Lycoming piston engine, fed with fuel from two high level mounted external tanks and driving a 2 bladed single rotor with short inertial stabilising minor blades. Built at the Old Mixon (Weston-super-Mare) and Hayes (Middlesex) factories, with the first Westland model flying on 9 Mar 1965.
