The CH-47F Block II Chinook featured an improved drivetrain to transfer greater power from the engines to the all-new, swept-tip Advanced Chinook Rotor Blades, which have been engineered to lift 1,500 additional pounds on their own.
The CH-47F configuration of six fuel tanks – three on each side – has become two, allowing the aircraft to carry more fuel and shed weight.
Additionally, the fuselage’s structure was strengthened in critical areas to allow the aircraft to carry additional payload.
First order was for upgraded MH-47G for US Army Special Forces.
In 2021, the UK RAF became first international customer ordering 14 aircraft with Germany following in 2023.
Four Block II Lot 1 ordered in September 2021 and began production in April 2022.
