The SAR flight is founded in 1959, flying Alouette II at Ypenburg. In 1960 two Alouettes are temp detached to Mokmer in New Guinea. In 1967 the flight receives the new Alouette III transferring to Soesterberg in 1968.
In 1977 the SAR flight moves to Leeuwarden, close to the aerial shooting ranges. After more than 25 years flying the Aouette the flight receives the more powerfull AB-412SP.
After an reorganisation of the air force the SAR flight is renamed 303 SAR sqn in 1997.  |
