Living at Meyrin (Geneva, Switzerland), R. Stierlin was early a performant
mechanic and later engineer at the European Laboratory for Particles
Physics. He was early interested by the rotary wings and never involves with
helicopters for glory or for money, but just for private and intellectual
purposes.
He designed and built 5 helicopters between 1948 and 1969, mainly in his private house and 3 were registered. He learn to fly by himself and never had a pilot license.
He died in the crash of his 5th helicopter.
