1974	ch-53a	65-065	153296 : SE of Diboll, TX. On July 20, 1974, CH-53A buno 153296 suffered an inflight fire after an internal fuel tank exploded at 4500 ft. The crew shot an emergency landing in a clearing in a forest about 15 miles SE of Diboll, TX. After the crew was out of the helicopter, it rolled over and was consumed by fire. All the crew survived with some injuries. The helicopter that crashed in Maryland was a CH-53D, buno unk, from MAG-26 in MCAS New River, NC.
