This aircraft was originally assigned from the factory along with 6915840/41/42/43/44/45/46/48 to Troop D (Air), 1st Squadron, 4th US Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley Kansas. 848 was assigned to the Maintenance Platoon while the others were assigned to the Lift Platoon. I was the Lift Platoon Leader in 1973/74.
