One of a number of sites in France which was turned into a NATO air base, with their characteristic marguerite (or daisy) aircraft disperals, during the Cold War, which closed around 1966 after France withdrew from the military aparatus of NATO.
A commercial route to Paris was operated for c 15 years but competition from the relatively nearby Basle/Mulhouse meant it was ultimately doomed. It has now become a light industrial park, with a logisitics / distribution centre
