Until 1993 the ICAO was EDNH, nowadays not to mixed up with airfield ICAO EDNH Bad Wörishofen, Bayern the south of Germany

In 1993 the Military air squadron Jagdbombergeschwader 41 disbanded, flown the last years with the Alpha Jet. The airfield was not closed, but not used any more.
In 2000 they started with a civiel airport on the south part of the airfield. Other part is still from the Luftwaffe.
