In April/May 1982 the Argentine Air Force used the 500 meters long ( 450 usable ) grass airfield to deploy IA-58 Pucara turboprop aircraft. Known as BAM Condor, was also home of a SAR unit with two Bell 212 which were active in the operations theater in the general support role including the recovery of several downed pilots.
