Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City is a major United States Air Force base, with tenant US Navy and other Department of Defense missions. Originally known as Midwest Air Depot, is named in honor of Oklahoma native Major General Clarence Tinker, the first Native American Major General.
Tinker is the headquarters of the USAF Material Command (AFMC) Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC) which is the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, software and avionics components. The host unit is the 72d Air Base Wing (72 ABW)
