In 2008, A&P was awarded 2 RFA Cluster maintenance contracts, numbers:

2: RFA Cardigan Bay, RFA Lyme Bay, RFA Mounts Bay (RFA Largs Bay deleted, when sold to Australia)
In 2012, both Clusters were extended until Jun 2018.
Clusters 3 to 6 were held by Cammell Laird.
During Oct 2018, the MoD announced the award of a restructured Lot 2 RFA maintenance contract from Mar 2019 to Jun 2028, to consist of RFA Cardigan Bay, RFA Lyme Bay, RFA Mounts Bay, RFA Argus and HMS Scott.
During Oct 2023, A and P (Falmouth, Hebburn and Middlesbrough) and A and P Australia merged with Cammell Laird and Neway Industrial Services (a marine paint specialist, also in Birkenhead), to become APCL Group Ltd.
The companies will retain their own identities but it makes formal, years of previous co-operation agreements and each can call on the resources of the other, to offer a flexible approach to work.
