During the Cold War, this was a small enclave of West Berlin, surrounded by Potsdam, in the Soviet Control Zone. A US Military Police unit guarded the border and was frequently re-supplied by helicopters of the Berlin Brigade Aviation Detachment, from Tempelhof.
