LODD Autonomous is an Abu Dhabi-based aerospace company founded in May 2023 that specializes in developing unmanned, hybrid-electric cargo aircraft to address "middle-mile" logistics challenges. Headquartered in the UAE and supported by the Advanced Technology Research Council, the firm is led by CEO Rashid Al Manai and focuses on creating purpose-built autonomous systems for the civilian market, including e-commerce, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
Its flagship aircraft, the Hili, is a hybrid vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV capable of carrying 250 kg payloads over distances up to 700 km, representing the first heavy-cargo drone entirely designed, built, and tested in the UAE. As of early 2026, LODD has established strategic partnerships with major global operators such as DHL Express, Emirates SkyCargo, and ST Engineering to trial and export its technology to international markets.
