U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations has used the AS350/H125 AStar family as its primary Light Enforcement Helicopter (LEH) since introducing the Eurocopter AS350 during the 1990s for border security missions. The type became a major part of the fleet after a 2008 order for 50 AS350 helicopters, supporting surveillance, tactical patrol, search, border security and law enforcement operations across the United States. Following Airbus Helicopters' 2015 rebranding of the AS350 as the H125, CBP AMO has continued modernizing the fleet with new-production aircraft, including 16 H125s ordered in 2020 and a further 10 aircraft ordered in 2026.
