In April 2023, an order was announced for 6 Airbus H145M helicopters for the FAH, intended for search and rescue, humanitarian relief, and counternarcotics operations. The first pair is scheduled for delivery in December 2024, along with a new batch of 6 upgraded Bell 412s.
However, in July of the same year, the Honduran Government canceled the 6-unit contract, citing financial differences. Eventually, the contract was revised to include only 2 aircraft.
During FIDAE 2024, a second pair was ordered, and it was confirmed that the first 2 helicopters would be delivered by December as originally planned.
