The S-70i is the Black Hawk produced since 2009 in Poland for the international market.
In 2015, the S-70i initially competed (and lost) against the French EC725 Caracal (winner) and the AgustaWestland / PZL-Świdnik AW149 in the Polish Armed Forces' new helicopter competition. Though the program was later canceled by the new administration, both the AW149 and the S-70i were eventually acquired.
In 2016, Turkish selected the S-70i for their national forces which will be assembled locally as TAI T70 (109+191 options).
In 2018, the S-70i obtained FAA certification as the S-70M.
In November 2023, the 100th S-70i was rolled out with orders placed by 18 customers in 11 countries.
