Ecocopter, February 04, 2023 - Santiago de Chile - Ecocopter is committed to contribute with concrete actions to the care and protection of the environment with international standards.
Based on this, Ecocopter began to offset its carbon footprint in 2022 and additionally became the first helicopter company in Chile to join the "Vuelo Limpio" (Clean Flight) program.
A public/private initiative that seeks to implement a national sustainable aviation program and aims to improve the efficiency of freight and passenger transportation in the civil aviation industry, promoting good practices in energy management by airlines and aeronautical companies.
It was in the 13th version of the Industrial Energy Manager (IEM) Diploma and Certification, which is dictated by the Energy Sustainability Agency (AgenciaSE), with the support of the Ministry of Energy, where representatives of Ecocopter and other companies completed and approved the Energy Manager Professional Training Program.
"This version of the IEM focused on giving a national and international energy context, focused on the energy transition; providing knowledge on types, quality and depth of energy audits; deepening the importance of energy efficiency in decision making and, finally, giving an introduction to Energy Management Systems based on the ISO 50001 standard," said Javiera Morandi, Ecocopter's Quality and Environment Coordinator.
The professionals who participated in the program were able to deepen their knowledge and tools to incorporate them into their processes and contribute to energy management within their respective organizations, with a view to improving energy performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, contracting energy efficiency services and managing energy consumption.
"This is how Ecocopter, in addition to reducing its carbon footprint, is committed and is permanently working to improve energy efficiency through our professionals and through the application of new technologies for the optimization of its operations and this certification is proof of this," emphasizes Morandi.
