Alidaunia Joins Leading Helicopter Academies
LHA, October 04, 2022 - FOGGIA, Italy - Alidaunia, one of the largest helicopter operators in Italy, is joining LHA, Europe’s first helicopter training network.

Founded in 1976, Alidaunia offers HEMS, firefighting and commercial transport, as well as its academy. It’s also the only company that operates a scheduled helicopter service in Italy.

European Helicopter Center (EHC) CEO and LHA Spokesperson Anette Kruhaug Haldersen: “We are very excited by this new addition to our network. Alidaunia is an excellent academy offering a wide range of training services, complementing our existing network and strengthening LHA presence in Italy.”

While Alidaunia specializes in training for professional pilots (PPL to ATPL and FI/TRI/Examiner ratings), it also offers a unique LIFUS program, where low time pilots can quickly gain experience.

The company excels in simulator training too, which includes Full Flight Simulators (FFS Level D) for the AW109, AW139 and AW169 helicopters from Leonardo. And non-pilot training for technicians, nurses and others in helicopter-related skills, such as RNP 0.3 (H), NVIS, HUET, HHO and EMS.

Alidaunia, founded in Foggia on the 1st March 1976, started its activity as fixed wing operator of aerial work.

In 1984 the Company achieved the License for Passengers Public Transport (TPP) by the Italian Ministry of the Transportation and began operating executive flights.

Since 1985, with Ministry of Transportation assent and with the sponsorship of Puglia regional government, Alidaunia guarantees the daily connection between Foggia and the Tremiti Islands, a service of remarkable social utility. Since 1986 is the only Italian company operating line scheduled flights with helicopters. Moreover, such line service to the Tremiti Islands is integrated by Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), available 24/7, in favour of the population of the Islands.

From 1992 to 1995 Alidaunia operated also the Mitsubishi MU 300 “Jet Diamond” for line service on the routes Foggia – Milan Malpensa and Foggia – Parma.

Nowadays, Alidaunia operates in many different areas within the framework of aviation business. Specifically, Commercial Air Transport (IT.AOC.063), aerial work (SPO), Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (IT.MG.0063), Maintenance Organization (IT.145.0101), Design Organization Approval DOA (EASA AP.018), airport and heliport management, handling, firefighting, fuel bunkering, security.

Alidaunia operates helicopter for civil protection services, HEMS Helicopter Emergency Medical Services and air ambulance contracted by several Public Administrations in different regions of Italy.
