Ejercito de Tierra Español, December 08, 2020 - Task Force Toro has started operations from its new base of operations at the Iraqi Al Asad Air Base (AAAB). Spanish helicopters move there last August 1st.
The 73 soldiers and six helicopters were deployed in three batches between July 26 and 30, in which means and personnel were transferred while continuing to carry out missions from the already old base of Taji.
This change has involved a logistical effort that in no case has affected the unit's operations.
In the little more than two months that the Spanish helicopter unit ISPUHEL XII has been operating from Iraqi territory, it has carried out more than 60 missions in support of the coalition, completing more than 420 flight hours and transporting a total of 1,800 passengers and more than 150,000 kilos of cargo.
The change of base has been an added challenge and an extra motivation for all the men and women who make up Task Force Toro. Once again, the effort and good work of these military personnel from the Airmobile Forces of the Army has made it possible to show our allies the great professionalism and adaptability of the members of the Spanish Armed Forces.
Task Force Toro is under the tactical control of Task Force Red Devils, made up of US Army personnel and assets, and carries out a wide variety of missions, both during the day and at night.
The commitment of our Armed Forces to the Coalition to guarantee the safety of all Spaniards from these far-flung lands is a proven fact.
