Medevac from BBC Georgia

An Esq 751 Merlin was scrambled to evacuate a French yachtsman (from the Nyenergi), who had been picked up by the Antigua and Barbuda registered cargo vessel BBC Georgia, more than 700 km W of Lajes, in the Azores.

With the assistance of the João Coutinho class Corvette NRP António Enes and a P-3C from Esq 601, the vessel was located, the patient winched aboard and transferred to Horta on Ilha do Faial, where an ambulance had been positioned to rush him to a nearby hospital.
