Formed in 1907, the Cayman Island Police experimented with helicopters in the late 1990s, before establishing its own formal Air Operations Unit in 2010.
The RCIPS undertakes annual exercises with the UK APT(N) deployed ship, in preparation with other Island authorities for the Caribbean Hurricane season (in 2017 it was RFA Mounts Bay; in 2020 RFA Argus and HMS Medway).
