In 2016, Finmeccanica rebranded the AgustaWestland brand as Leonardo. Leonardo do Brasil serves as the regional hub for the company's helicopter division.
Leonardo Helicopters has maintained a strong presence in Brazil for over 40 years, evolving from a regional sales office into a premier heavy-maintenance hub for South America. A major milestone in its history was the 2021 inauguration of its advanced Service and Logistics Center in Itapevi, São Paulo. This facility replaced older infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the executive, offshore, and government sectors, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to the Brazilian aerospace market.
Today, the branch operates out of its main technical hub in Itapevi and maintains administrative offices in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro. Its primary roles include providing 24/7 technical support, specialized pilot and mechanic training, and comprehensive MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services for popular models like the AW119, AW109, and AW139. With over 190 aircraft flying in the country, Leonardo do Brasil acts as the critical link for logistics and fleet availability across the entire continent.
Since 2023, Synerjet Latina SA is the official distributor of Leonardo civil helicopters for Colombia, Peru, Chile and Paraguay.
