Escuadrón Aéreo 111 (111th Air Squadron) is a tactical unit of the Mexican Air Force (FAM) primarily tasked with reconnaissance and aerial support missions. Historically based at Military Air Base No. 5 in Zapopan, Jalisco, as part of the 5th Air Group, the squadron has traditionally operated a fleet of helicopters, including the Bell 206 and Bell 212. In recent modernization efforts, the FAM has moved to replace the squadron’s aging Bell 206 platforms with more advanced Bell 407GX helicopters to enhance its operational readiness and versatility. The squadron plays a vital role in Mexico's internal security and disaster relief efforts, frequently participating in the DN-III-E Plan to provide humanitarian aid and medical evacuations across the country.
