While the unit airframes still wore ROYAL NAVY titles, 10 Wessex HU.5 served with 847 Squadron initially in the Far East, from Mar 1969 in the Commando assault role, until it disbanded in May 1971. 21 Wessex served briefly in 1982 during the Falklands War, airframes were drawn from the RN pool and the numbers shown above are included (double counted) with the totals for the Royal Navy Wessex. |
