Kuwait: Flying to Udairi Range, engine fire due to #3 bearing oil lube input tube. Smoke filled cockpit, pilots made hard landing First Mech re-entered acft to check for any remaining crew - overcome by environment (smoke, fire and spinning blades) died on board. Fire consumed aircraft, recovery delayed due to .50 cal ammunition cooking off. |
