Operated by the Argentine Army, Base Esperanza (Hope Base in spanish) is the biggest Argentine station on Antarctica together with Marambio.
The base houses an 80 inhabitants in winter, including 10 families and 2 school teachers, and around 1,100 tourists visit the base each year.
