The only active heliport inside the metropolitan area of the second biggest city of Spain, Barcelona. The new rooftop helideck was inaugurated in july 2010 replacing the old street-level heliport. Main difference is that now there is no need of a ground ambulance unit to transfer the casualty to the ICU but now the heliport has a weight limit, not being able to accommodate helicopters in excess of 5500 kg.
