The Aasta Hansteen gas field was discovered as 3 separate plays (Luva, Haklang and Snefrid South) between 1997 and 1998; a further discovery (Snefrid North) in 2015 will also be produced via AH. The platform was towed to the field in Apr 2018 and is situated in 1300m of water, currently the deepest exploitation on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Production started in Dec 2018 with gas removed via pipeline to Nyhamna in Møre og Romsdal while the gas condensate is collected by tankers.
