The Deep Panuke platform was taking gas from beneath the nearly exhausted Cohasset and Panuke oil accumulations. Discovered in 1998, the development was a while in coming but was recovering from the complex, WSW-ENE Abenaki Carbonate Trend, which is a late Jurassic reef and reef rubble area, of c 15km lateral extent.
