The Landing Site for Oldchurch Hospital was a small piece of grass beside the old Romford Skating Rink, c 350m SE of the hospital.
The Regional Hospitals Trust was looking to make savings and consolidate services into a more modern facility. Work began on Queens Hospital and when it opened in 2006, Oldchurch Hospital was closed and sold to developers; while many services transferred into the Queens from Harold Wood Hospital before it too was redeveloped.
