Opened in Apr 1967 as Dongyang Shipbuilding, it was renamed STX Goseong Offshore and Shipbuilding in Nov 2012. The period 2013-2017 was difficult and the business wound up by the courts. It was revived in Jul 2021 as K Shipbuilding, focussed around its Jinhae yard.
