The H140 is a 3-tonne class helicopter, slightly larger than the H135, and was first announced at VAI Verticon 2025 in Dallas. It offers a cabin for up to six passengers with large windows for improved visibility, while rear loading and sliding doors enhance accessibility, making it suitable for medical and transport missions.
Equipped with a new T-shaped tail boom, Fenestron for noise reduction, and a five-blade bearingless main rotor, the H140 is powered by two Safran Arrius 2E 700 shp engines, managed by a dual-channel FADEC system for optimal performance and power reserves. The Helionix avionics suite and 4-axis autopilot improve safety and reduce pilot workload. An optimized maintenance plan is expected to extend inspection intervals and lower operating costs.
Assembly of the H140 prototype began at Airbus Donauwörth, Germany in 2023.
The entry into service of the H140 is planned for 2028.
