Two KA-26s were used by the SLAF from 1971 to 1979 by the #4 Helicopter Squadron in the passenger transport and medevac role. They were part of a package that the USSR sent to Sri Lanka as aid to fight a 1971 communist insurgency (ironic). Now preserved at the SLAF museum.
