    As of September 2014 two units, 5-01 serial number SN0231 and 5-02 serial number SN0276, under trials on landing ship San Giusto (L9894), active in Mare Nostrum operation. Early trials performed from frigate Bersagliere (F584). Currently operated by Italian Navy pilots from GRUPELICOT 4 (4° Gruppo Elicotteri - 4th helicopters group) based in Grottaglie.

    Camcopter S-100 UAV for the Italian Navy, 11-Feb-14 : Vienna, Austria - The Italian Navy has selected the CAMCOPTER S-100 UAS (Unmanned Air System) to provide support for its fleet, making it the first European Navy that has S-100 in operational use.

    S-100 first UAV ever to fly from an Italian Navy ship, 30-Apr-12 : Vienna, Austria - Schiebel’s CAMCOPTER® S-100 has taken a further step in consolidating its strong maritime position by being the first UAS (Unmanned Air System) to ever fly from an Italian Navy ship. The S-100 was flown from the ITS Bersagliere, a Soldati Class frigate and successfully carried out a number of missions for observers from the Italian Navy.
