The EC.135 was received by the former Federal Border Guard (BGS) from 2000 to replace their SA.318 Alouette II. They were handed over to the Bundespolizei after the 2005 reorganisation. From 2007 more EC.135 gone to the BPol parent organisation, the BMI, mainly for ambulance/rescue duties
