The three AW139M helicopters destined for the Ecuadorian Navy are part of a broader government-to-government agreement signed between Ecuador and Leonardo for a total of seven aircraft. The package includes three helicopters for the Navy, two for the Army, one for the Air Force, and a dedicated VVIP-configured aircraft for presidential transport. Through this joint acquisition, Ecuador aims to modernize its rotary-wing capabilities across all branches of the armed forces while improving maritime surveillance, border security, search and rescue, disaster response, and government transport operations.
