The French Navy performed inital tests with the Camcopter in October 2008 aboard frigate
Montcalm (D642). In 2011 demonstration flights were completed aboard the new OPV (Offshore Patrol Vessel)
L´Adroit (P275).
In 2012, the Marine Nationale selected its
Système Embarqué de Reconnaissance Vecteur Aérien Léger or
SERVAL for operational deployment aboard the OPV.
In June 2017, drones were deployed aboard the helicopter carrier
Dixmude for trials and have been part of its air wing since 2019.
Aircraft number four was delivered by November 2018.
In 2024, operated by 36F in Var, the S-100 was used for security missions during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In 2026, with six drones already in service, an additional five were ordered for deployment from
FREMM frigates.
