On August 29, 2003 Greece placed an order for 20 NH90s with another 14 in option. The first flight took place on July 13, 2005. Build aircraft have been stored at Marseille France since then with Greek serials from ES1101.
First two aircraft handed over to HAA 2TEAS on 07 June 2011 as ES843 and ES844
Final delivery signed in 2021 for last 6 helicopters including 2 in special operations configuration
As of December 2025, all 20 have been delivered to the Hellenic Army, including 16 standard TTH and 4 special operations variants. While the full fleet is delivered, operational availability has been limited in the past due to support issues, with some helicopters cannibalized for parts until a new €50 million support contract was signed on December 12, 2025.
