Licensed production of the Bell 412 in Indonesia began in 1982, under the company PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) after the signing of an agreement with Bell Helicopter for the production and marketing of the helicopter in the country.
PTDI has manufactured over 100 Bell 412s for various customers, both civil and military, in Indonesia and abroad making PTDI one of the leading manufacturers of the 412 model.
The first Bell 412 helicopter assembled by PTDI was delivered in 1984.
