The Peruvian Navy acquired its first Sea King helicopters from Italian Agusta in the late 1970s. In 2009, six ex US Navy UH-3H were obtained via FMS. The first two of these arrived in December 2010, and a third arrived in August 2011. Two were in service by 2017.

In 2022 Spain donated 6 helicopters after retirement which arrived in August 2023.
