Russian Helicopters, November 01, 2016 - Moscow - Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, signed a contract with Wuhan Rand Aviation Technology Service Co. Ltd. for the supply of 2 Ansat rotorcraft produced by Kazan Helicopters.

The deal was reached during China Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition-2016 in Zhuhai.

China became Russian Helicopters’ first foreign customer to receive Ansats with hydromechanical control system. Two medevac Ansats will be delivered to China before the end of 2017 and Russian Helicopters are in talks on another contract for the supply of the same model with another Chinese company. Light twin-engine multirole Ansat is designed for 7-9 seats and has the most spacious cabin in its class. It can reach a maximum speed of 275 km/h and has a range of over 500 km. It can be used for passenger and cargo transportation, for medical evacuations, rescue tasks, as well as for training and patrolling.

A medevac Ansat is designed for primary care and emergency medical evacuations. The helicopter can be used to help victims in areas with tough terrain and in remote areas with difficult access. In addition, a medical Ansat can serve the functions of an intensive care unit and monitoring of victims’ vital functions during flights to hospitals.

"We are pleased that the first foreign customer for an Ansat is here, as Russia has had a long and fruitful history of cooperation with China. They are a long-time operator of Soviet and Russian-made helicopters. We hope that this delivery will soon be followed by others, and the fleet of Ansats in China will grow,"- said Russian Helicopters CEO Alexander Mikheev.

Light twin-engine multipurpose Ansat was developed by Kazan Helicopter Plant and is designed to carry 7-9 people. In December 2014 Ansat was approved to receive a hydromechanical control system, which allowed to transport passengers by this type of aircraft. In May 2015 the medevac version of Ansat was approved while the VIP version was certified in December 2015. In June 2016 the helicopter’s take-off weight was raised up to 3,600 kg.

Russian Helicopters, (part of State Corporation Rostec), is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Moscow. The company comprises five helicopter production facilities, two design bureaus, a spare parts production and repair facility, as well as an aftersale service branch responsible for maintenance and repair in Russia and all over the world. Its helicopters are popular among Russian ministries and state authorities (Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Control Ministry), operators (Gazpromavia, UTair), major Russian corporations. In 2015 its IFRS revenues increased 29.5% to RUB 220.0 billion. Deliveries reached 212 helicopters.
