Together, we’re celebrating 40 years of successful Black Hawk operations worldwide. With more than 4,000 in service today, this iconic bird stands the test of time.
The UH-60A Black Hawk was declared ready for service with the U.S. Army's 101st Combat Aviation Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division in June 1979. They went into combat for the first time during Operation Urgent Fury, the invasion of Grenada in 1983.
