Boston MedFlight signs multi-year agreement with SevenBar Aviation for fixed-wing aircraft ambulance operations

Boston MedFlight, February 23, 2018 - Dallas, TX and Bedford, MA - SevenBar Aviation is pleased to announce it has signed a multi-year agreement to provide Boston MedFlight, headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts, with FAR (Federal Aviation Regulation) Part 135 fixed wing services.

Boston MedFlight is a non-profit, nationally recognized critical care medical transport program that partners with a consortium of seven Boston-area hospitals, as well as community hospitals and first responders throughout the New England region.

SevenBar Aviation will provide turn-key maintenance and aviation services utilizing a King Air B200. By focusing on providing advanced technology and highly trained professionals, SevenBar will play a key role in supporting Boston MedFlight’s mission to care for critically ill patients in need.

For SevenBar Aviation, signing with Boston MedFlight represents an increased presence on the East Coast of the U.S. SevenBar Aviation currently operates multiple aircraft for the LifeFlight of Maine program, with locations in Bangor, Lewiston, and Sanford, Maine. In addition, SevenBar provides aviation services for the University of Virginia Pegasus program, based in Charlottesville, VA, and the University of North Carolina Air Care program, based in Raleigh, NC.

About Boston MedFlight: Boston MedFlight is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1985 that provides critical care medical transport to the region’s most severely ill and injured patients with its fleet of helicopters, airplane and ground vehicles, all of which are outfitted with state of the art medical equipment and serve as mobile intensive care units. With highly-trained critical care nurses and critical care paramedics, Boston MedFlight transports adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with a very diverse range of diagnoses, including medical, trauma, and neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and obstetrical concerns.

Each year Boston MedFlight completes over 4,000 patient transports, providing over $4 million each year in free and unreimbursed care to patients in need with little or no medical insurance.
